I've had Waffles for almost two years and I disagree with the sites. Most of the sites I looked at said that they might need grooming but only brushing at home. I researched a lot on Cavalier before buying one because I had a cocker spaniel a long time ago and didn't really want to mess with the grooming thing. Honestly, I think that it depends on the Cavalier. I've heard anywhere from "moderate" shedding to "heavy" shedding.
I also can't really find a good consensus on this either. Do they even need frequent trips to groomer, or do at-home grooming sessions suffice?Īlso, I wanted to kow how much Cavaliers shed. I know Bichons require groomer visits quite frequently, and that can become quite expensive over time, but compare to them, how are Cavaliers? I've been trying to research this for a while, but I can't seem to find a good consensus.
I personally don't mind having to brush them or clean them everyday however, what I am more concerned about is the trips to the groomer. One of the main concerns for people getting a bichon is that the grooming needs are high this is also sort of a concern for me. Right now I'm trying to do a lot of research to see which one would best suit my life style/needs. My other breed of choice though, is the Bichon Frise. I've been looking into different kinds of breeds to see which one would be the best fit for me, but for the longest time, I've been in love with the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
I am planning on potentially getting a puppy over the summer next year.
